New VESTA Advanced Video camera update: greater accuracy and enhanced integration

What if a camera could wait for two different conditions to be met before generating an alarm? Or control how long an object remains inside an area before considering it a real intrusion?

With the new VESTA camera update, we are taking another step in that direction. The latest Firmware versions include improvements designed both to strengthen integration with the VESTA ecosystem and to expand the configuration and management options of VESTA Advanced Video.

But there is one particularly interesting new feature: we can now combine IVS rules to create much more precise alarm criteria. And that is not the only one.

A VESTA update designed to increase detection efficiency

The new features make it possible to fine-tune how and when we want a camera to generate an event. This means more customisable installations and, above all, more precise alarm management.

Event combination: two IVS rules, a single alarm

One of the main new features is the Combined Event function, which allows two IVS rules to be combined so that an alarm is only generated when both have been triggered.

It follows a logic similar to the cross-zone function available on VESTA control panels: instead of reacting to a single detection, we can require a second condition to be met before triggering the alarm.

It is also possible to configure the time between one IVS crossing and the next, adapting the camera’s behaviour to the scenario we want to protect.

The result? A particularly useful tool for increasing detection efficiency and ensuring that analytics respond more accurately in more challenging scenarios.

New Inside function to control dwell time within an area

The VESTA update also introduces the Inside function, designed to work within an intrusion IVS rule and control how long an object remains within the defined area. We can set how long the object must remain inside the area before generating an alarm and also configure the interval between subsequent detections.

For example, we can make the VESTA camera wait one minute before generating a new alarm if the object remains inside the intrusion area. This makes it possible to adapt the camera’s response to the behaviour we actually want to detect, avoiding unnecessary events caused by brief presences.

More options for snapshots, VMS and external servers

The update is not limited to improving IVS analytics. It also expands the integration and information transfer capabilities of the cameras.

Configurable snapshot interval of up to 24 hours

Until now, the snapshot capture interval was limited to 7 seconds.

With the new Firmware, this parameter can be configured up to 86,400 seconds, equivalent to 24 hours.

This extension provides much greater flexibility when defining capture frequency according to the needs of each installation, from scenarios requiring frequent monitoring to applications where images are needed at much longer intervals.

Auto Upload: direct transmission of alarms to third-party software

Another new feature is Auto Upload, which allows alarms to be sent directly to a VMS or third-party software.

This functionality expands the integration possibilities of VESTA Advanced Video in projects where video information needs to coexist with other management platforms, making it easier to connect cameras to external infrastructures.

SFTP: a more secure alternative to FTP

Until now, cameras could upload images to a server via FTP. The update also adds support for SFTP, providing a more secure alternative for file transfer. This allows us to choose between FTP and SFTP according to project requirements and strengthen communication security whenever the installation requires it.

With this new update, we continue to expand the capabilities of VESTA Advanced Video to deliver increasingly flexible, precise and integrated video security.

Event combination and the Inside function make it possible to fine-tune detection and reduce false alarms; the new snapshot interval offers greater configuration flexibility; and the Auto Upload and SFTP functions facilitate integration with VMS, software and external servers.

All this is in addition to the SmartHomeSec integration improvements included in the latest Firmware versions, strengthening connectivity between the cameras and VESTA control panels.
